Aboriginal language program commences at Tathra Public School

Tathra Public School is working together with Bega High School and Bega Valley Public School to raise the awareness of Aboriginal languages through this ten-week program.

Content in this program relates specifically to the new History syllabus. Areas of focus will be Aboriginal languages treated through a study of culture, art, basket making, dance, music, artifacts, bush tucker, bush medicine, storytelling and the construction of a camp site. This program will culminate in a launch at the school on Monday, Week 4, Term 2 in 2015. It is anticipated other schools within the South Coast Learning Community will engage in this program at Tathra Public School throughout Terms 2, 3 and 4 of 2015.
